• Visible caption text from YouTube videos.
• Extension settings, including the enabled state and source and output language preferences.

How data is used

Caption text is processed locally in Chrome when translation is enabled. The extension does not send caption text off the device for translation.

Extension settings are stored using Chrome sync storage so preferences can persist across Chrome sessions.

Data not collected

The extension does not collect browsing history, inject ads, sell personal data, or use analytics or tracking scripts.

Retention

Translations are cached only in memory while the extension is running.

Third parties

Caption text is processed by Chrome’s built-in local translation APIs when available. The extension does not call Groq, Google Translate, Supabase, or the YouTube Data API.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
